Job Description for Parish Representatives
The Parish Rep is an informal position developed to facilitate communications within each respective parish Cursillo community. The voluntary position is ideally chosen by the parish Cursillo community. It would be advisable for the Rep to let his or her rector know about the responsibility and for them to work together as appropriate. The job description which follows is suggestive.
As part of encouraging parishioners to maintain an active Cursillo community, which involves supporting upcoming Cursillos and Ultreyas throughout the year, the parish rep communicates the dates when they are set and more so as the dates approach:
Make yourself available to the parish to explain other opportunities that Cursillo provides to serve our Lord. This might include encouraging, educating, and modeling the sponsoring of candidates, working on the Cursillo team, attending Ultreyas, being a member of a group reunion, sending Palanca, and engaging in prayer for Cursillo. It may also involve helping to organize new group reunions when needed as well as sponsoring Ultreyas in your parish. Please see the "Ultreya Outline" page for the normal Diocesan Ultreya agenda.
Stay connected with the Cursillo community, conveying any suggestions to the Secretariat and larger Cursillo Community. When applicable, inform them of your parish activities, allowing them to participate as Fourth Day. Additionally suggest names of persons who could take on responsibilities in the larger Cursillo community.
Finally since the Monarch Episcopal Cursillo Ministry is entirely self-funded, and raising scholarship funds requires attention, reminding your respective parish to collect recyclables as well as encouraging financial donations towards those scholarship funds. Please see the Monarch web page for more information. http://www.monarchcursillo.org/more.html
